GMI Project Manager
Responsibility:
. Direct and coordinate activities of a Sungard GMI implementation ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.
. Coordinate with various back office operations and technology departments to understand their needs and related impact on the implementation of Sungard GMI for US Listed derivatives.
. Confer with project staff to outline work plan.
. Coordinate the development, testing, and implementation of Sungard GMI for the US region with an emphasis on extraction of GMI data for downstream systems.
. Provide global coordination with regional user groups, UAT/ QA testing and implementation.
. Facilitate weekly status meeting with business owners on development priorities and progress.
Experience: Requirements
. Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
. 10+ years experience within securities industry; back-office experience in global securities processing with knowledge of European and Asian markets
. 10-15 years within the financial services industry.
. 3-5 years working knowledge and experience implementing Sungard's GMI application
. Experience with STREAM (optional)
. 3-5 years experience producing the following documents:
o Scope
o Business requirements
o Test Plans
o User Documentation
. Good listening and interviewing skills; ability to elicit customer requirements, take detailed notes, pose relevant questions and understand the overall picture.
. Strong presentation and product demonstration skills
. Strong negotiation, analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
. Proven ability to manage projects and deliver within specified deadlines following defined software development lifecycle.
. Solid understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management
. Ability to see and understand the "big picture" and to translate strategic business objectives into tactical steps
. Must be responsible, dedicated, self-motivated and dependable.
. Previous experience interacting with upper management; good critical judgment with the ability to distill important information into concise, effective executive summaries
. Strong interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills:
. 5+ years experience with Microsoft Office
. 5+ years experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software
. 5+ years experience with Microsoft Visio
