My Client, an International Trade Firm of about 300 people is seeking a Senior Trade Floor Support Engineer for their Manhattan Office. They are seeking someone who has at least, Level III experience with support of a mixed Linux, Windows and Solaris environment. They are looking for a minimum of 5 years experience in the finance industry, preferably out of a smaller trading firm or hedge fund. Must be very Hands-on with all aspects of Server management and administration as well as desktop support. <br></p>
Experience: Responsibilities: <br></p>
• Perform desktop and server side support of proprietary and third party applications <br></p>
• Perform system administration, installation, problem isolation, and problem resolution on Windows and Linux systems <br></p>
• Participate in planning, designing, and implementing a high quality production environment <br></p>
• Administer Active Directory, file and print sharing, and user access to shared folders <br></p>
• Provide management reports on server utilization and incidents <br></p>
• Work with the software engineering team on hardware requisition and provisioning <br></p>
• Maintain system documentation as systems change <br></p>
• Collect and report system errors, improvements, etc. <br></p>
• Administer and support turret phone systems <br></p>
Experience and Skills<br></p>
• 2+ years experience supporting proprietary and third party trading applications <br></p>
• 2+ years progressive experience in a Windows network computing environment <br></p>
• 2+ years experience working with Windows Server 2000 and 2003 in an Active Directory multi-domain environment <br></p>
• 5+ years hands-on experience in the administration and maintenance of a backup policy, configuration of data production, and backup of production servers, Exchange servers, and Unix\Linux servers <br></p>
• Previous Unix/Linux administration experience required <br></p>
• 2+ years scripting experience (PERL, VBscript, shell) <br></p>
• 2+ years experience maintaining HP systems/server/storage management software <br></p>
• 2+ years of turret phone system support (Etrali and or IPC) <br></p>
• Solid knowledge of network protocols and technologies as implemented in a Windows TCP/IP network, including DHCP, DNS, and SMTP <br></p>
• Ability to maintain server hardware and troubleshoot and resolve complex production problems <br></p>
• Previous experience working in the trading industry is essential <br></p>
• Must be able to demonstrate technical problem-solving skills <br></p>
• Excellent oral and written communications skills essential <br></p>
• Excellent documentation and knowledge management skills required<br></p>
