This is a 3 month project (with possible extensions) for a client in Downtown Manhattan, and if all goes well you may continue as a consultant for other clients throughout the NE corridor (Boston- NY) and beyond.
You will be assisting the Lead consultant with the design, lab implementation and testing of Vista image and Office 2007 and associated GPOs.
Responsibilities will include:
Set-up and troubleshooting of Windows XP/Vista SP1/Server 2003
Office 2007 Security
Compatibility settings and testing Vista Application Compatibility
Testing Desktop Security
User Account Control Desktop Lockdown Application Virtualization (Altiris SVS) Troubleshooting, PC related
Group Policy Application & Image Deployment (SMS, Altiris Client Mgt) Wireless Technology
Troubleshooting PC performance and reliability issues (Sysinternals, Perfmon, Desktop Optimization Pack, Netmon)
VB Scripting & PowerShell
Experience: Technical Consultant with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, specifically in setting up, troubleshooting and deploying Windows Vista, Office 2007, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Windows 2003, Active Directory, SMS, Desktop Image creation and management (using MDT) and related technologies
Experience within large Windows-based environments
Ability to complete assigned tasks in a self-directed, independent environment while working collaboratively within a project team
Ability to clearly articulate progress and issues with strong follow-through on agreed team approach
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals on a high technical skill level, as well as the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience
Ideal candidate will have experience with VB and PowerShell scripting
Experience with Altiris Management Suite a plus
