Sr. Technical Architects for Platform Re-engineering project in Not Specified, NY

Description Our client, one of the largest financial services firms, is seeking a Sr. Technical Architect for Platform Re-engineering project Location: New York , NY Contract Position Description/Required Skills:Senior Technical Architect to architect, design, and develop major platform transformations to the core Research Application Suite. Candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the re-engineering roadmap. Understanding the current platform, defining the future architecture (including hardware configuration, application architecture, and support software), planning the future roadmap, and managing the development of multi-staff project to meet these goals. Minimum of 10 years of proven IT experience in the high availability, high volume transaction processing environments, preferably from the financial services industry. Must have prior proven re-engineering experience. Understanding in the use of n-tier architecture, scalability and integration issues. Deep knowledge of/practical experience with various technologies, including: Java o A strong appreciation of the current Java technology landscape, technologies available and the current trends in development. UNIX o JDBC o Jrun o Weblogic Experience with Middleware ( JMS, Tibco RV) is helpful Oracle 10G/11G o DBMS skills ? Database design, Indexing, Keys, Stored Procedures, T-SQL/PLSQL, Profiling. Tomcat or equivalent platform NetBeans XML technologies (XSLT, XSD schemas, XPath). Experience with the use of web services and SOAP Object Orientated development/design patterns Experience with Middleware ( JMS, Tibco RV) is helpful Knowledge of .NET is a plus. Large-scale Data warehouse experience is a plus Competencies Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude; ability to work extensively with other teams/groups including Architects, Developers, Quality Assurance, Operations, Database Administrators (DBAs), Program Managers and others. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and to share ideas either in the community or in projects. Excellent client facing and communication skills. Able to identify potential issues, and manage risk. Be a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks and manage both your own and your team s time effectively. Takes ownership and responsibility.
