WHAT IT IS:

As an Applications Problem Manager, you will be responsible for proactively owning major service incidents and problems, liaising with support and development teams as well as end users and external service providers to ensure that core issues are followed up and dealt with appropriately.


WHAT YOU DO:
Including, but not limited to:

- Holding a key position in the IT Operations team that serves a global network
- Guide the post-mortem process for the Incident Management process and work to establish a culture of best practice operations
- Covering a range of technical duties including provisioning, deployment, maintenance and administration

WHAT YOU NEED:

- Must have a broad general "hands-on" technical ability and understanding including OS, database, storage and networking
- Strong understanding of the ITIL framework
- Understanding of LDAP directories, SSO solutions, Java Application servers, load balancers
- Apache/IIS web servers and web centric application deployments
- General database experience
- Programming or scripting language skills
- Familiarity with virtual environments
- Familiarity with SANs
- Application and infrastructure monitoring experience / exposure
- Comfortable working effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience working with shared service or external service providers a plus
- Experience with SLA development a plus
- Experience implementing effective change management process and tools a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent demonstrated IT work experience
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on resolution of complex technical problems
- Motivation and commitment is a must
- Ability to think, work and learn independently
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels within and outside the organization, including senior management and technical teams; good listening and consultative skills
