Network Engineer
Our client, a leading financial trading firm based in downtown New York, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their Network Management team.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a diverse global network.
Liaise with third parties to maintain communication lines and data center infrastructure
Perform administrative tasks associated with moves and adds and changes of network resources
Work with users to add or modify network connectivity to partners and service providers.
Design and Deployment of WAN, LAN, IP and IPSEC networks.
Interact with management, internal departments and service providers on network growth, quality and maintenance issues.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
Bachelors degree required, preferably in technical field
5-7+ years experience working with complex, multi-vendor networks
Expert IP Networking skills required
Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS
Strong knowledge routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and PIM
Experience with multicast configuration a MUST.
Meticulous organizational and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail
Experience with VPNs including IPSEC, GRE and Cisco ASA
Working knowledge of various version of Unix and/or Linux
Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as MRTG, Cricket, SNMP
Strong multi-tasking and adaptability skills.
Quick on the uptake.
Must learn new skills and technologies in a rapidly-changing environment.
Strong initiative and communication skills
Certifications:
CCNP, CCDP, or higher a strong preference.
Scripting experience to automate network tasks is desirable
Systems Administration experience is desirable
