Position Description: The UBS Investment Bank is seeking a GSD Support Analyst who will provide production support for the Principal Finance group trading fixed income repo instruments.

We require a wide-ranging set of technical skills, business knowledge and client facing skills.

Responsibilities will include:
?a Use technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of systems to locate and resolve problems.
?a Proactively seek ways to provide a better service e.g. implementing new products or enhancements, reviewing and improving support processes
?a The position is extremely dynamic and backed by a management commitment to ongoing training.
?a Initial core duties will be support of data integrity as well as batch processing including liaisons with IT operations and development.
?a Responsibilities will also include project work covering UNIX, Web technologies, automating existing/new processes through scripting, server configuration and metrics.

The successful candidate should possess:
?a Excellent verbal communication and problem solving capability.
?a Good time management and attention to detail.
?a Minimum of a 2 years experience working in similar application production support environment.
?a Self-driven, motivated, goal oriented and able to take full ownership and responsibility for actions.
?a Strong analytical, process-based skills (e.g. process flow diagrams, functional design).
?a Previous development experience will be a big plus.

Objectives of Role:
?a Understand and respond appropriately to the production incidents and follow the incident management process, including escalation.
?a Use technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of systems to resolve problems for internal and external clients.
?a Plan, manage and implement deployment of business applications, knowledge and understanding of change management, configuration management.
?a Proactively seek ways to provide a better service e.g. process improvement, implementing new process or enhancements.
?a Expected to be available during weekends and holidays on an emergency basis.
?a Some key weekends will also require on-site coverage.

Minimum Requirements
WE REQUIRE:
?a BA/BS or equivalent is essential; a degree in Computer Science or IT related field is desirable.
?a A minimum of 4 years of work experience of supporting trading applications.
?a Strong knowledge of Oracle and/or Sybase.
?a Strong knowledge of UNIX (Solaris).
?a Experience with scripting languages (ksh, Perl) required.
?a Experience with the Windows environment desirable.
?a Experience with Web technologies (Tomcat/Apache) required.
?a Experience in finding and resolving technical problems.
?a Experience in supporting critical and time sensitive applications.
?a Knowledge of financial services/Trading is a plus.
