Business Reporting Manager, NYC

Position Description:
The person in this position is responsible for the management of distributor authorization records and other affiliate data and the use of IT-supported reporting tools by the department in mining and presenting results in finished reports. In addition, this position has a crucial role as a liaison for the department with IT as regards data collection applications, database management, and the implementation of reporting tools.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Analyze emergent business questions and translate them into accurate, useful, and timely reports for internal departmental and external company clients. Interpret business problems presented by departmental management as data analysis problems and provide prompt and effective solutions.
Maintain the continuity and accuracy of all data brought into the distributor authorization and reporting databases from external as well as from internal sources.
Manage the department?s use of distributor authorization system and Network Operations databases and reporting applications.
Provide guidance and support to the distributor support staff on reporting from Business Objects and FileMaker Pro. Assist staff with modifications to existing reports for ad hoc reporting requirements.
Design and implement ad hoc database and reporting solutions as dictated by the needs of the business.
Provide guidance and training to distributor support staff for use of distributor authorization system as needed.
Departmental liaison with IT for support of database, distributor authorization, and reporting issues. Assist the Director in development of new IT-based solutions.
Ensure the smooth flow of information to and from both distributors and internal account teams via mail, fax, email, and web distribution. Includes oversight of contact distribution lists.

Required Skills and Experience:
BA/BS degree
3-5 years report creation and processing in a complex and dynamic business environment, and at least 1-year database administration
Proven analytical skills as applied in a business reporting environment
Ability to process and interpret abstract business concepts into useful reporting and database solutions
Experience and familiarity with the technology and business aspects of the Cable and/or Broadcasting industries
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to adjust style to audience ? must be a good listener
Experience in computer application and report development from client side perspective.
Administration and expert use of reporting tools and databases (Business Objects, FileMaker Pro, SQL, MS Excel, including equivalents)
Basic knowledge of computer science, communications, and networking systems
Track record as a quick study ? willing and able to acquire new skills and adapt to rapid change.
Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction
Ability to multitask effectively and remain detail oriented.









$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annually
