Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a distributed networked Sun Unix based environment.
Support Sun servers by providing tactical implementation planning and configuration specifications.
Support the Firm?s application deployment/troubleshooting for the test and production environments.
Responsible for OS installation support and administration as well as troubleshooting.
Responsible for handling all Unix administration tasks associated with managing engineering/web servers and application servers.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree or 3 years experience with a Masters Degree.
Sun Certified Systems Administration.
Experience in supporting Unix networks, software, security, configuration management, software installations and upgrades.
Experience with Marimba and Veritas i3 installation a huge plus.
Experience in monitoring system performance, tuning and capacity planning.
Organize daily operations including disk backups/restores and resource allocation
3 years of system administration and troubleshooting of systems for users.
Knowledge: Sun Solaris, Cisco router/firewall, Enterprise Javabeans, Application servers,
Web servers, specifically, iplanet / SunOne. Needs a strong background in Weblogic
8.1/9.1 and should have prior experience in the WL cluster/J2EE environment.
Experience with Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Manager a plus.
Familiarity with Cisco routers/firewalls is preferred along with high availability experience.
Experience with Virtualization/ Storage virtualization strategies a plus.
Provide Level 3 support. Position requires occasional off-hours and weekend work.
Excellent written (technical documentation) and oral presentation skills required.
MUST be a team player.
$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually
