This position requires that the candidate be process-oriented person that wants to join our technology department. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of the configuration management, release process, automated packaging and deployment for applications running on the Windows (primarily) and Linux platforms. The Deployment Engineer is high profile position reporting into the Director of Development. The key to this role is the ability to streamline build, packaging and deployment process while maintaining constant communication within technology department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
. Build Management
. Creating software builds and releases by developing and automating build and packaging scripts
. Establish and manage versioned library of in-house developed components
. Constantly Monitoring and maintaining (updates) to multiple environments and configurations to support Development, QA, Integration and Production.
. Creating, Documenting and Maintaining a repository of critical process, project, and product measures and metrics
. Creating, Documenting and Maintaining the Build Process (Definition, Workflow, Tools and Packages)
. Assemble, review and automate release note generation.
. Defining and developing command-line and GUI-driven product installers such as Install Shield
. Researching and improving methods of production and processes based on industry best practices
. Constantly Monitoring and maintaining (updates) to the QA and Staging (application and web services layer) environments.
Experience: Skills and Qualifications:
. Mandatory skills
o Minimum 4 years of industry experience in configuration management and release engineering
o Experience with one or more of the following tools: ClearCase, CVS, Subversion (preferred), SourceSafe, Perforce.
o Specific experience with build and release for .NET, C#, web, and client-server applications with database components for an n-tier enterprise Web products.
o Experience with scripting for WISE PackageStudio, Installshield and/or other automated installation tools.
o Working experience with Make files, Cruise Control, nAnt, nUnit
o One of the following scripting languages required: VB, VBScript, WSH, or shell scripting
o Working experience with SQL is mandatory.
o Strong communication skills
o BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
