Project Coordinator II
REPORTING TO:
Program Office Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator is a member of the Program Office Team. The PC will be responsible for the monitoring & maintenance of all project activities, e.g. the integration of project tasks across multiple projects, tracking of milestones & deliverables, resource allocations across multiple lines of business and project status for all assigned projects. The PC will develop and coordinate project plans, utilizing Microsoft project to ensure all aspects of the project are documented. The PC will identify predecessors, successors for each activity, and work with PMs to update percent complete and set baselines for planned versus actual start and finish dates. Additionally, the PC will take project related action items from the PM and drive them to resolution.
The PC will take appropriate action to ensure that incomplete tasks, over allocated resources, missed milestones, etc
are escalated (and documented with suggestions) on a timely basis in project status reports to the Program Office Manager and Functional/Project Managers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The PC will manage projects through use of Microsoft Project and work with the PM to determine predecessors, successors, and resources for all identified tasks. The PC will create and integrate resources using a common resource pool. The PC shall identify milestones and monitor the baseline of assigned projects for accurate status reporting. The individual must possess a strong ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with others to meet and exceed expectations for timely delivery of designated projects. The PC will
be expected to develop approaches or recommendations to the PM on how to manage status, recover from project delays, or deal with over-allocated resources. Additionally, the PC must be willing to make decisions on project reporting and present relevant metrics with regard to project goals with minimal involvement from the PM. This only be possible by self involvement with day to day project activities. The PC is also responsible for the timeliness of assigned action items without sacrificing the quality of the deliverable
QUALIFICATIONS:
This individual must possess the following qualifications:
Ø 5 years of experience managing projects using Microsoft Project.
Ø Individual must be a master of Microsoft Project.
Ø 3 years of experience managing large complex projects and or multiple projects concurrently.
Ø Knowledge of PMBOK, PMP certification is desirable.
Ø Knowledge of Microsoft Project Server is desirable
Ø Proficency with related industry tools such as Visio, Power Point,
Ø Knowledge of the SDLC and current software project best practices is desirable.
Ø Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Program Office initiatives & projects
Ø Track, report, and communicate project variances using project status reports
Ø Develop, evaluate, and analyze project resource pools.
