Product Analyst
Our client seeks a candidate with a background in: product/account management, business/technical analysis, trade support, a strong comprehension of trading technology, domestic and international equities trading, market structure and US and global market data. This person will work in a 3-person team composed of other analysts tasked with the design of new trading system functionality. This person will be responsible for creating requirements for all aspects of the Firm's real-time equities trading system.
Key aspects of this position include: writing high-level and detailed specifications, understanding project goals; interpret business requirements, interaction with Development and Quality Assurance teams to understand: (1) the project objectives, (2) the development work required to realize the specification, and (3) how to test that the software is functioning in accordance with the business need and the clients' expectations. This person will have day-to-day interaction with the architect, business analysts, developers, clients, etc.
The candidate should be a strong writer, demonstrate excellent problem-solving ability, self-motivated and capable of working in a fast paced challenging environment. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to relay and express ideas in a forum with developers, business analysts and product managers. Candidate must have a strong understanding of equities trading and equities trading systems.
Note: This position will require that the analyst works in the New Jersey office (WOODBRIDGE) with visits to the NYC and Boston offices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
. Creation of specifications for the Firm's equities trading system (Listed and OTC; US and international);
. Work with developers to explain project objectives;
. Work with business analysts to understand the project requirements;
. Work with QA to explain software functionality.
. Client visits to conduct training and gather feedback/requirements.
Minimum experience includes:
. Excellent oral and written technical communication skills;
. At least 6-8 years of experience working with a real-time Direct Market Access (Listed & OTC, Options, futures) trading system; OMS
. Comprehensive knowledge of the Equity Financial Industry;
. Understanding of electronic trading to include exchanges, ECNs, ATSs, etc.;
. Knowledge of FIX and other financial protocols
. Ability to create detailed documentation within Word, Excel, Visio, etc.;
The following skill sets are deemed as pluses in the job category:
. Trade support, technical operations support of a DMA system;
. Knowledge of trading systems such as RediPlus, ITG Radical, Lava, Bloomberg, BRASS, U2, Royal Blue, etc.
. BS in Computer Science, Finance or a related field is considered a plus.
Licensed: Not required but would be a plus.
Salary Range: 95K to 115K
