A large financial institution in midtown Manhattan seeks a candidate to work in Desktop/Helpdesk Support.
Currently, the spot is slated to run at least 6 months, but could go longer and potentially go perm down the road.
Description
Providing end user system support and application support on a wide
range of systems, including specialized business applications and
general productivity applications.
Ownership and follow through of system problems on Trade Floor desktops.
Provide regular updates to users on status of any outstanding faults that
they have reported.
Management of disk space issues across production file servers.
Responsive and high caliber support for all senior executives.
Acceptance testing of all applications and new OS builds.
Support of laptops and mobile computing environment to ensure that
business requirements are met including ongoing tech refresh and
upgrade programs.
Ongoing liaison with users to establish requirements and issues.
Working with the central project teams and other IT groups to ensure
minimum disruption to users and ensuring tight integration with existing
environment during applications or operating system rollouts.
Analysis of faults to determine trends / recurring issues and escalation
of these to the engineering/projects team as appropriate.
Experience: Work Experience
Essential
Prior Desktop or helpdesk support experience
Desirable
Desktop support experience in a trading floor environment.
Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge
Essential
Desktop Support experience, application support experience, familiarity with
MS Office\Outlook, Remedy, Hardware knowledge as well.
Desirable
Familiarity with Market Data and trading systems
