BASIC FUNCTION:Function as a trusted member of the Network Security Solutions team in the Information Security department. Administer and maintain the Bank’s Intrusion Detection Platform as well as lend support to the Bank’s Security Information Platform.Participate in the monitoring, evaluating and maintaining of systems designed to protect Bank data systems and databases from unauthorized users.Mentor staff and instruct clients concerning security principles and practices with respect to these platforms.RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, organize and deliver best practice information security recommendations for the Bank’s Intrusion Detection and Security Information Management platforms.Analyst will be expected to become an SME on both the IDS and SIM platforms in order to appropriately assess and remediate security risks to the Bank.Research and evaluate new and current operating systems and applications to ensure adherence and compliance to established internal and federally mandated security policies and standards relating to information security.Actively participate in the implementation of recommendations as appropriate.Review new threats and vulnerabilities and create appropriate IDS and SIM policies.Perform network penetration studies using ISS Internet Scanner, Qualys Scanner and other ethical hacking methods to regularly ensure compliance and protections are in place on the bank’s various platforms.A firm understanding off network protocols and working with protocol analyzes (Ethereal, SnifferPro and tcpdump) is required.Understanding of the Bank’s telecom infrastructure will also be required.Some after- hours work will occasionally be required due to the nature of security threats.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in MIS or 3-5 years experience in a technical environment.One (1) to two (2) years Information Security experience and/or knowledge.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to function professionally at many different levels (clients, management, and peers).IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of eight to ten years in an information technology environment.Three (3) to five (5) years data security experience.Two (2) to three (3) years experience working with IDS and SIM systems as well as working knowledge of Internet/ Network security methodologies and principles.Self- motivated, well organized individual.Ability to work under critical time constraints.CISSP-Certified Information Systems Professional and/ or CCNA a plus.
