Summary of Position
The Director of Information Systems assumes overall responsibility for all internal technology and the IS department. This position provides corporate IS direction and insures that all IS objectives are achieved. The Director of Information Systems manages all IS activities to ensure that projects are prioritized and completed on time and within spec. The person in this position will assist, as needed, with support.
Essential Functions:
. Develop IS strategic plan
. Develop and effectively prioritize overall IS task list
. Lead technical development team
. Develop a continuous improvement mindset for IS department employees
. Responsible for ongoing professional development and education of self and employees
. Implement operations cost improvement programs
. Attend and participate in company and department meetings, industry conferences and conventions as required
. Establish and communicate the vision, mission and goals of the Information Systems Department to the IS staff and complete these goals with their assistance
. Perform duties inherent to all supervisory positions
. Keep all support equipment in good working condition
. Keep required records, write documents as required
. Assist in developing policy and procedures.
. Perform other duties as assigned
Experience: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
. Knowledge of our client's Information Systems technology
. Ability to present and explain Company and technical information to potential or existing customers, as well as our clients employees, both verbally and in writing.
. Leadership ability and team-building skills are needed to effectively supervise staff, as well as to create positive impressions during interactions with all levels of staff, management, and customers
. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive and lasting relationships with management, employees, and customers
. Ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance
. Possession of a continuous improvement mindset
. Ability to embrace change and adapt to changing priorities

Education:
. High School Diploma required
. BS in Computer Science, Management
Qualifications/Experience:
. Minimum 5 years experience in the Information Systems field
. Lean training or "LEAN Thinking" Experience a plus
. Three years' experience in a leadership related role
