Director of IT in New York, NY

A Manhattan based Art Gallery which is home to many of the most significant artists and estates from the 20th and 21st centuries, is seeking a Director of IT to lead our IT Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

. Understand business needs, recommend and implement technological solutions and stay abreast of current technologies
. Manage and upkeep systems, and recommend new technology where appropriate
. Direct all IT operations to meet staff requirements
. Manage and direct IT staff
. Report on department budget, project completions, and other indicators to Executive staff
. Manage and ensure the efficient operation of the company systems
. Identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
. Research business requirements and evaluate vendor products and services.

Experience: Background and qualifications:

. BA Degree Required, Computer Science or Information System Degree preferred
. 5 + years of progressive experience leading IT Operations and Systems Administration required
. 2-4 years IT project management experience preferred
. Experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning, development, management and policy development
. Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day management
. Must have experience Managing a department and staff
. Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written
. Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills required
. Overall working grasp of database solutions, Web technologies, and systems integration a plus
. Ability to work well in a fast-paced deadline driven environment a must
. Must have the ability to work well as part of a team

Position reports to: Director of Operations

Salary: 80-100K
