CDI Corporation has a position available for a long-term (1 year) Windows Server System Administrator in New York, NY.

Position is with a large/reputable computer corporation.

Position requirements are as follows:

Work to be performed from home in the New York NY area. We are using the address for the New York office in this request as the closest office.
Travel will be required to several of the client sites within the NY, NY area.


PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Review the Intel environment(NT/Windows/Linux/VMware/Netware) hardware and software for anomalies/gaps and remediate them as part of Operational Readiness Certification project.

Main functions will be to remediate tools installations on approx 3500 servers.

Must have Microsoft clustering experience.

Scripting skills in VBscript and Windows batch script.

Experience with HP SIM hardware monitors.

Create change requests (RFC's), obtain approvals and represent changes at CAB meetings.

Must work off-hours and weekends to implement changes to or resolve problems with servers.

Will provide Intel server technical support, hardware support and system administration for a commercial outsourced account

Includes support of approximately 3500 servers running the NT/Windows/Linux/VMware/Netware Server operating systems and associated products.

Requires 24x7 on-call responsibilities, frequent weekend/evening work, travel to data center off-hours, and in-depth, complex problem resolution skills.

Will be involved in installation, maintenance, technical planning, and upgrades of OS software as well as other software products required by the customer.

Will maintain hardware configurations, respond to trouble tickets, and adhere to all standards and processes.
(esp. security, change, and problem management)

Off-shift and weekend work will be the normal work scheduled for this candidate.


SKILLS REQUIRED:

Win2000/2003 SA with hardware knowledge
(preferably HP and IBM hardware)

Candidate would also possess skills in MS Clustering for High Availability, Linux, and/or VMware ESX.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

MCSE certification, Active Directory experience, Group Policy Object (GPO) experience, x-Series technology experience.

Looking for folks who can be flexible about their schedule and are able to work other shifts or an adjusted work schedule to cover weekends.

NOTE: This position is a work from home but travel to client sites within the NYC area as required.
