The PC Applications Development Team has an opening for a Senior Product Developer. The ideal candidate will have education or experience in Product Development and Design, Systems Analysis or a related field. The candidate should have an interest and aptitude for complex problem solving and testing products to specification. Candidate must be well organized, possess the flexibility and adaptability to work in a constantly changing environment, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The PC Applications Development Team develops and maintains:
• The common components which support Visual Basic user interface for all of our products. These components are generic, but have to respect and respond to individual behaviors and requirements of the various systems.
• The communications software which sits between the enhanced desktop applications and the mainframe systems.
• The internal tool used by product development for housing and specification, requirement, enhancement and defect tracking.
• The installation software for our Desktop applications.
• The Software release management process
Experience: Responsibilities
Understand and articulate the functional requirements of the desktop applications
Translate business needs into system requirements for designing and testing new products/features
Provide first-line support to internal users: Problem solve and respond to product questions/issues, and escalate as necessary
Test new software and bug fixes
Analyze problems and collaborate to generate solutions, discern patterns and establish best practices
Assist in creating test plans for both manual and automated testing
Master various databases used by team
Assist in managing and documenting product requirements
Manage projects and maintain timeline
Qualifications
4 year college degree
4 years in product development and design or systems analyst experience
Analytical thinker with an eye for detail and a strong preference for research/problem-solving
Resourceful and self motivated, with a good sense of urgency
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to change in work assignments
Solid verbal and written skills
Team player; able to cultivate relationships with not only other team members, but different teams and departments within the company.
