Duties:
Primary systems and application support for the New York office and business recovery location
Secondary support for other America offices (Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Brazil & Colombia)
Perform administrative tasks on the regional server systems and applications
Pro-active involvement in logical security aspects
Provides presentations, training and other information to support the technical integrity of the systems engineering function both internally and externally
Effectively communicates the activities of the systems engineering group to peers and more senior management
May serve as Project Champion, Lead Engineer or Core Team Member for R&D projects
Works with the other teams to establish effective work procedures and processes for systems engineering deliverables and standardize these across all existing and new product implementations
As required, serve as a resource within the broader Information Technology department to:
- Analyze, critique and make technical contributions to projects across the breadth of the organization. Supply critical organizational, analysis and problem solving skills to all aspects of our existing and new applications and systems.
- Coordinate and manage technical projects involving cross-functional teams working within and external to the organization.
- Serve as a continued customer advocate
- Initiate and successfully implement special assignments as required
- Assist with occasional help and support to other teams and end user community
Maintains strong and positive customer interaction to strengthen the credibility of the system engineering function
Occasional end users training on effectively utilizing systems and software applications will be required
Experience: 4+ year’s professional work experience
MS products: W2K3 server, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, WSUS, DNS & DHCP
Other: Citrix Metaframe, Altiris Deployment & Notification server, Blackberry Enterprise server, Facetime, McAfee, Trend OfficeScan & ScanMail, VMware
Hardware: Compaq & HP Servers, Dell workstations & notebooks
Linux (RedHat) in an implementation/administration and troubleshooting role
Networking: Experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco switches and routers. Good understanding with network performance monitoring and problem resolution. Experience in maintaining Checkpoint firewalls considered a plus. Cisco certification preferred.
Additional experience that will be advantageous
Trading floor environment with exposure to market data applications: Reuters 3000 Xtra, Bloomberg, CQG, Ice, DoIP and MoIP.dures to automate administration tasks, produce reports and facilitate user tasks.
