Application Support Analyst (QA) in New York, NY

This position will function as a support resource for a well known sports club chain in Midtown Manhattan. Core responsibilities will include coordination of end user support, assisting the application development team with trouble shooting and implementing Quality Assurance standards and practices. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem solving and communication skills, work with the team on planning and implementation of application projects and tasks, highly motivated and a quick learner.

This position is a junior-level position.

JOB FUNCTIONS
. Provide end user application support for core business applications.
. Through relationship building, broaden understanding of core business functions and develop understanding of future needs.
. Assist in managing technology development requests through the process of documenting business needs. Gather and document business requirements for applications as well as report development.
. Develop and document Test Plans and regression testing for functional system; incorporating definition of scope, approach, platform specifications, work breakdown and effort estimates, risks and mitigation approaches.
. Plan, develop, and execute system and regression testing scenarios and evaluate and record test results.
. Deliver regular test status and test summary reports
. Utilize automation test tools to build regression and performance framework.
. Evaluate functionality and usability of deliverables to ensure they meet business needs.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS / CONTACTS: Primarily interacting with Application Services team with occasional communication with Business leaders and Corporate Support Personnel.

INDEPENDENCE OF OPERATIONS: This position will directly report to the Application Services Senior Manager. All duties will be performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work extended schedule within a five day work week, with weekend and evening work required at times to meet special projects and business deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Clean Environment with pleasant office surroundings. Noise level may reach moderate levels, with occasional travel throughout the service area. Individual must be available to respond during unscheduled work hours and work evenings and/or weekend shifts as required.

Experience: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a 4 Year Degree.

. Strong knowledge of QA methodology, and software development lifecycle.
. Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science or equivalent experience.
. 1 - 3 years experience identifying, researching and resolving business problems through quality practices.
. Must possess a working knowledge of software testing concepts, test planning, authoring and executing test cases/scenarios.
. Working knowledge of automated test tools and concepts, test methodologies, defect tracking, and defect workflows is a plus.
. Ability to quickly adapt technical concepts and understanding of product architecture.
. Knowledge of relational database, SQL, and web technologies.
. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
. Highly motivated and passionate about Quality.
. Effective project reporting.
. Ability to work in a team environment.
. Must be a U.S. Resident

This is a permanent position paying b/w 60-65K.
