Genesis10 has several openings in Long Island, NY for NAS support individuals. This is for a large financial client and will be a long term consulting opportunity.
The individual in this position will perform NAS administration functions including filer installation, configuration and management to assist in the support of 300+ NAS filers and 3500TB of file-based storage in NA. In addition will create and set retention backup policies for NAS storage respond to and resolve escalated backup issues, off hour monitoring is required to ensure all the backup jobs have been completed successfully, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup job Guide System Administration to retrieve\restore files, and Maintain Database with the accurate relationships
Responsibilities:
- Participate as a NAS support member to implement ONTAP OS systems 7G, GX, VMware, Flex Volumes, and Data Replications based upon best practices and company standards.
- Participate in design, research and development effort leading to improvements to the existing and future NAS production backup environment
- Provide Day-To-Day support (Level- 1 and Level-2) This includes: Performing daily system health checkouts, Hardware installs and upgrade, configuration of Vfiler/Qtree/snapmirror/snapshots, Provisioning of storage allocations, capacity management, data migrations, performance analysis and management
- Provide night and weekend support on a rotational basis
- Monitor and process TCRS queue for NAS storage requests
- Maintain and update NAS Volumes/Qtree business database
- Maintain NAS architecture documentation, standards, policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain proper monitoring and reporting of failed backups.
- Configure Disk-To-Disk volumes utilizing SnapMirror and SnapVault tools
Experience: Qualifications
- 3 yrs of Windows and UNIX environment
- Bachelor's Degree required
- NAS (Network Attached Storage) or other storage experience Previous experience with NetApp Filers, SnapMirror, SnapVault, and NearStore highly desirable Experienced in large scale enterprise environment, with preference going to individuals with a background in storage products
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of protocols such as NFS and CIFS Proficient in scripting languages skills such as Perl and VBscript is Plus
