ETF Database schema design normalization and Systems Developer.
. Knowledge of ETFs, benchmarks, equities, corporate actions, tick capture, asset class categorization, cusips, dividends, and other trading related knowledge.
. Data Capture and analysis - from Bloomberg or DS or other source.
- Rating Service - all data points for structural integrity and
investment metrics.
- Categorization of ETFs and underlying benchmarks.
- Monthly update of all ratings data to update db.
- Monitor daily replication.
. Database Design - design tables and write all stored procedures for use with new schema.
- Design overnight replication procedures.
- Create tools and monitor code and directory structure for
seamless transition from dev, to staging to production.
. Documentation of all data. Uses Source Safe for code veracity.
. Testing, Maintenance, Optimization and rewriting code for redundancy and efficiency of all stored procedures.
. Quality Assurance - bug testing, automated email notification.
- Making sure all automated scripts send messages as to success
or failure.
. ETF Finder - Research on other platforms, design of new system.
. Design new db schema and implement.
- Build Visio diagrams.
- Build templates for use in loading data into fact sheets, etc.
. New Tools for automating data capture.
. Excel Templates for calculation of intermediary data before loading into db.
. User friendly tools for website incl.
20 - 50 % yearly Bonus
Experience: Bachelor's degree and extensive related financial/technical experience.
3-5 years experience with stored procedure programming, data modeling, replication, performance monitoring, optimization and database administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Languages: SQL Server, .NET, Perl, VB/VBA, SQL, C/C++/C#, Java, HTML, XML
Technologies: multithreading, sockets, MS Office automation
Other Software: Bloomberg API, Thompson Datastream
Database Skills: Schema design, SQL Server SP, replication, backup, and mgmt.
Certfications: Series 7 a plus
