We are currently looking to fill a full time role with our client here in Syracuse.

Job Summary: An Implementation Engineer is an individual who is well versed in the understanding of technology and strategic business acumen. The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to provide solutions to a customer's business problem.

The position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively engage internal and external customers related to the lifecycle of a project.

The Implementation Engineer employs the principles, methodologies, procedures and project management "best practices" to ensure that projects, tasks, and/or deliverables are completed on time, on budget and as required.

The Implementation Engineer monitors project quality and completeness; establishes schedules, goals, and objectives; produces status reports; conducts routine status meetings; when necessary, allocates project work to team members; and is accountable to project commitments.

Application Engineer Team Leads are expected to maintain and/or foster effective customer communications, be resourceful, and professional. Furthermore, Application Engineer Team Leads are expected to provide assistance and/or guidance to junior team members.

Job Duties: Pre-sale support: This includes product demonstration, project cost generation and analysis, scope and/or statement of work development, sales meetings, presentations, product training, and formal and informal RFP responses. The Implementation Engineer must be willing and able to travel to support pre-sale support requirements.

Post-sale support: Post contract award, remote and on-site support during the coordination, installation, implementation and maintenance phases of the project (this may include temporary placement at customer sites). Post sale support projects are defined by a scope of work. The scope of work shall include the assignment of project management responsibilities, systems engineer responsibilities and/or support engineer responsibilities. Other post-sale requirements may include consulting arrangements, emergency on-site response, or other similar requirements. The Implementation Engineer must be willing and able to travel to support post-sale support requirements. This includes the installation, implementation, maintenance and/or support of products.

Proactively manage and communicate project risks and issues. Makes recommendations to teams with issues / barriers to continue project. Recommends solutions to conflicts, issues between multiple teams.

Documentation: Develops procedures for implementation, support and/or maintenance of products and/or support requirements. From time to time we may require our employees obtain additional certification levels required to achieve the objectives of the company.

We will support the educational development required to achieve these additional certification levels. Other duties: Participate in special projects and perform related duties as assigned by department management. Additional duties may include after-hour on-call support.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years systems management experience is required.
A minimum of two years technical and/or technical project management experience as demonstrated by a combination of the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

.Knowledge and experience in cross-functional projects and project management methodology.

.Knowledge of informational technology platforms pertaining to converged network environments.

.Skill in technical communication, planning and preparation of written material.

.Skill in delivering technical presentations to audiences of varying sizes.

.Skill in effectively serving a diverse customer base.

.Ability to synthesize project information while maintaining the scope of a project.

.Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

An Implementation Engineer has a working knowledge of the OSI model. A good understanding of TCP/IP is required. Further, knowledge of four of six listed concentration areas is also required: Network Management Systems (e.g. CiscoWorks, HP Insight Manager), Cisco Multiservice Products, Cisco Voice and Unified Communication Products, Microsoft Network Operating Systems, WAN and LAN products and services, network applications (e.g. Citrix, Exchange, Lotus), and service management applications.
