POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Manager of Systems & Networks, the Systems and Networking Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and technical support of the server and network systems hardware and software technologies in use.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
„X Installation of workstation, server, network, and printer hardware as required.
„X Installation of workstation and server OS software and applications.
„X Perform other collateral duties that may include new product testing, quality assurance, hardware testing, documentation
„X Responds to functional problems related to supported systems. Coordinates resolution of these problems by diagnosing and fixing internally or coordinating the necessary external expertise.
„X Documents and communicates status of projects and outstanding issues involving supported systems
„X Creates new user accounts and insures proper access privileges are applied.
„X Assists in evaluating system security and back up procedures.
„X Enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of company¡¦s IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy if information entrusted to or maintained by the company.
„X Supports all information systems and networks so that they operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, regulatory agencies and legal requirements.
„X Coordinates correction of any system failures, contact point for computer problems.
„X Travel to remote locations as needed.
„X Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor listed above

Experience: QUALIFICATIONS
„X In-depth knowledge of Citrix Presentation Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Server, Windows XP and Windows Vista desktop operating systems.
„X Knowledge or UNIX and Linux operating systems administration.
„X Familiarity with Cisco Router and Switches, Check Point Firewalls, and router based networking and networking protocols.
„X Familiarity with Storage Area networks (SAN) a plus
„X Familiarity with MOM 2005/2007 or SMS is a plus
„X Familiarity with VMWare ESX server a plus
„X Familiarity with computer data security and disaster recovery planning
„X Knowledge of the following technical fields is desirable: programming, database administration, high availability clustering
„X Familiarity with various computer peripherals such as printers, monitors and other equipment.
„X Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
„X Effective verbal and written communications skills
„X Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative.
„X Professional certification in technical competency such as MCSE, CCNA, or CCEA.
„X Bachelors Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
