Sr. Technical Trainer (IT) Required Skills: Experience developing and implementing technology courses (e.g. SQL, SAP or Java course) Solid understanding of computers and hardware.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective and positive presentation skills Ability to communicate technical information to a group or individual in a clear, concise manner Willingness and aptitude to learn new applications as needed by the organization Understanding of program design techniques and methodologies, and an understanding of adult learning methodologies and techniquesUnderstanding of effective use of mediaExperience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or Education (preferred) 5-8 years of related industry experience with significant involvement in industry technical education and training Duties/Activities: The Director of Training is responsible for providing technical training and education to internal IT employees and business unit personnel. Under supervision of the Assistant Vice President Training, the IT trainer is responsible for delivering instruction on a variety of topics in a variety of formats (e.g., classroom, individual, guiding self-paced training). The Director of Training will be responsible for developing curricular and assessment materials for technical courses. Is responsible for assessing students' progress and maintaining records of training activities.Responsibilities Conduct classroom and individual user training on a variety of applications, including new user orientation, applications proficiency training and varied and complex computer skills Train IT staff on emerging technologies Participate in curriculum and instructional design, including development of teaching aids (e.g., training manuals, visual aids, eLearning training materials and reference materials)Develop evaluation procedures to assess effectiveness of training programs Participate in performing skills analysis or training needs analysis Assist in evaluation and implementation of third party training aids Assist in selection and oversight of third party trainers Maintain own proficiency through appropriate learning activities
