Applications Architect - NYC in NEW YORK, NY

A client of ours, with international locations is searching for a candidate to fulfill the role of Application Architect.<b>This position will be based in New York, NY. Local area candidates only please.</b>
In this position, you'll be responsible for performing maintenance, modification and expansion of applications software currently in production, as well as new. You'll be providing production support for existing applications and developing software/ systems specifications. In addition, the Application Architect will be responsible for developing and preparing applications software; revising and improving applications software, modules, objects and documentation; evaluating and modifying existing applications software and preparing systems and program specifications, file layouts, flow charts, etc.

Experience: To qualify for consideration for this position, you must meet or exceed the following:<br><br>
<ul>
<li>A 4-year degree, preferably in Computer Sciences or Information Technology or equivalent, related work experience.
<li>3+ years of experience using Microsoft&#146;s .NET platform, SQL Reporting Services, and SQL Server(2000,2005).
<li>Experience in standard SDLC (software development life cycle).
<li>Significant experience developing in VB.NET, C#, OOPS, Design Patterns, Visual SourceSafe, JavaScript, VB script, LDAP
<li>Strong Transact SQL is required.
<li>Strong communications (written and oral) skills are sought.
<li>Demonstrated understanding of software development and configuration management tools, such as tools utilized for debugging, testing and version control.
<li>Demonstrated understanding of how the application supported interacts with the technology infrastructure
<li>Financial services experience is a plus.
