PRIMARY FUNCTION
Designs, implements and supports data warehouse applications. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. Defines user interfaces and functional specifications. Responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and the maintenance and support of the data warehouse.
MAJOR DUTIES
Regular duties: % of time
1. Develops, tests and installs programs 70
2. Implements business rules via stored procedures or other technologies
3. Maintenance and support of data warehouse and software validation
4. Develops project plans and time estimates 20
5. On-call to monitor night and weekend jobs, EDI 2
6. Performs training, where appropriate 2
7. Writes documentation and flow diagrams 3
8. Performs ISD log documentation 2
Experience: Skills
1. Cognos Reportnet, Transformer - Framework Manager
2. Knowledge of Cognos Impromptu, PowerPlay Upfront tools
3. Understanding of Cognos Migration issues
4. Transact - SQL knowledge; Experience with MS SQL Server 2000 or greater; including Enterprise Manager experience for administration and data architecture
5. Use of Access Manager to build security
6. Proven understanding of data warehouse concepts. Experience in relation data modeling and architecture
7. Develop written specifications, documentation and flowcharts
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
9. MS Data Transformation Services (DTS) or ETL tools
10. Ability to work in a team environment
11. Attention to detail and accuracy
Education and Knowledge
4 year degree, Information Systems or related field
Specialized training: Knowledge with C
