Job Description: As a member of the BITS development staff, this position is responsible for effective software systems analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of software applications. Additional responsibilities may include coding, enhancing, debugging, testing, installation of software releases. In collaboration with a project manager, IT Analyst, Business Solution Architect, and Manager, the incumbent will ensure that software systems are properly integrated in support of business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Create accurate and complete detailed design specifications which will be assigned to other resources.
. Analysis, coding, documenting, testing, maintaining, debugging, and implementation of programs/applications.
. Supports and maintains day to day EDI transaction processing assuring that EDI processes have been completed timely and accurately and account for inbound and outbound documents.
. Provide timely and accurate estimates for newly proposed functionality/enhancements and review other team members' estimates for completeness and accuracy.
. Ensure BITS development standards, methodologies, compliance and Quality Assurance practices are being followed.
. Act as mentor, consulting on business processes and system integration. Identify training needs and opportunities.
. Perform administrative duties such as status reports and time reporting.
. Respond to emergency maintenance situations based upon application knowledge.
Required Skills: A four-year degree in Information Systems or related field or 10 years IT experience is required.
Expected at least 6 years professional Information System experience.Demonstrated information technology concept knowledge. Experience using an EDI Mapping tool (Sybase ECMap / ECRTP) and Gateway Processes or equivalent
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of EDI ANSI X12 standards (health care transactions), FTP, and TCP/IP. Working knowledge of Relational Databases - Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Proficiency in SQL (stored procedures)
Proven history of being able to work under pressure, multi-task, interface with customers and meet deadlines, Strong work ethic.
Language Requirements: C#, VB 6.0/.Net
Database Requirements: Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server
Tools: Operating Systems:Windows 2003, Windows XP
Preferred Skills: IBM Mainframe JCL, C++,Java/J2EE, XML, VBscript, Knowledge of Facets software, Experience with Mercury tool suite, Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining FTP systems. Advanced/expert knowledge of programming languages and tools. Demonstrated programming skills. Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership and consulting capacity. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization and with outside contractors and vendors. Self-motivated, detail oriented multi-tasker able to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with limited supervision. Demonstrated critical thinking and/or problem solving skills are a must.Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary to meet team collaboration and programming documentation standards.
Exhibits professional demeanor and interpersonal skills. Maintains neutrality when resolving conflicting IT and business issues.Specific knowledge of Windows platform required.
