Genesis10 is seeking a Business Analyst with Equity Derivatives for our client, a major investment bank, for their Global Technology group. This is a full-time opportunity located in NYC.
The main function of this role is to provide business analysis and planning expertise to support the Equity Derivatives IT buildout efforts on an existing in-house systems. This will include exposure to all elements of the SDLC, with close liaison with the New York and London development teams, and the New York based business users.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and documenting business requirements.
- Production of Functional specifications.
- Responding to Development team queries.
- Preparation of relevant use case and systems workflow artifacts.
- Preparation and execution of Test scripts.
- System and User Acceptance Test support and management.
- Live Support for user queries when needed.
- Post-live support for major enhancements.
- Training of business users in the enhancements being delivered.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- Qualification in Business Analysis.
- Significant experience with and exposure to front office development.
- Significant experience with structured planning and analysis and SDLC.
- BA degree.
- Recent background of full project life-cycle (gathering requirements, creating details functional specs, creating/managing test approach for system test and UAT phases, post implementation support).
- Excellent knowledge of the workings of Investment Banking (e.g. Business background in settlements, Dividends, Corporate Actions, prime brokerage.) particularly with regard to the interactions of a US Securities House with the DTC.
- Excellent and proven Analysis skills leading to requirements documentation and functional specification.
- Excellent test strategy, manual test scripting and test execution skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Mercury QualityCentre or Testdirector Experience.
- Self- motivated and delivery focused.
- Comfortable working to tight timescales in a team.
- Articulate and well presented.
- Excellent communicator and confident/committed change agent.
- Hands-on and able to influence peers in setting strategy and prioritizing work.
- Ability to question existing processes and suggest improvements for greater STP.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience using workflow tools.
- MS Project.
- Experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS Visio and Rational or similar UML tools.
