The client is looking for an Architect to work in an SOA environment for the (UISIM) Initiative. The
Information Specialist III will serve in the role of UISIM Senior Application Architect. The purpose of the
UISIM Sr. Application Architect role will be to transform business and technical requirements into an architecture and design for the Unemployment Insurance applications that will be created. Requirements transformation is based largely upon the previous design patterns that the UISIM Sr.
Application Architect has been involved with in the past through technical studies, or through personal experience. The UISIM Sr. Application Architect may also conduct technology research to assure a given technical approach will meet particular business needs. This may vary and take the form of documentation analysis to proof-of-concept experiments. The UISIM Sr. Application Architect must work together with applications development teams to assure systems integrate properly, and to avoid redundancy or design conflicts. The UISIM Sr. Application Architect will also develop technical solution documentation. As designs are developed into actual applications, the UISIM Sr. Application Architect will guide development teams and technicians through the design, and assist in the resolution of issues as they arise. The UISIM Sr. Application Architect will direct the activities of other Architects and contribute to the formulation of architectural policies and standards. The UISIM Sr Applications Architect will also assist and advise the technology managers during the process of recruiting additional architectural staff.
Developing and implementing systems using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) has become the technical direction for the client. As such, the UISIM Project has adopted the SOA approach, and seeks additional SOA Development expertise beyond that which is currently present so it may move forward with new project initiatives. Therefore the desirable candidate must be capable of analyzing and designing applications and system components within a SOA environment. The Consultants and client will jointly develop work plans with prescribed timeframes as required to accomplish each consultant's tasks as identified by the client.
Experience: 1) Mandatory Requirements:
* Master's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years experience as an Application Architect and/or a Lead Application Developer.
* One year experience in the Websphere runtime environment, which must include Websphere Application Server (WAS), Websphere Service Registry and Repository, Websphere Process Server, and Websphere Message Broker.
* One year experience in the Websphere development environment, which must include Websphere Integration Developer (WID), Websphere Business Modeler (WBM), Rational Software Architect (RSA), Rational Application Developer (RAD), and Websphere Message Broker Toolkit.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience using DataPower devices for security and using the device to perform XML acceleration and transformative routing. Experience must include using-DataPower as 'an-ExtemaI" Gateway using 'Security Assertion Markup language (SAML) and Web Application Firewall (WAF). Experience must also include using DataPower to interact with SiteMinder and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). This experience must have been in an IBM Websphere environment.
Desirable Requirements:
. Demonstrated experience as a J2EE application architect.
* Demonstrated development knowledge and experience using Service Oriented Architecture
principles and related technologies. (1 year)
. Demonstrated experience in working with services to establish composite applications.
. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with XML, WSDL and SOAP.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience using IBM's Service Oriented Modeling and
Architecture (SOMA).
. Demonstrated experience using Rational ClearCase and Rational RequisitePro
. Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Rational Software Architect.
. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Oracle and DB2 databases.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Websphere Commerce.
Strong-communications skills-both written and-verbal-as- presented-in an-interview where the candidate will demonstrate the required knowledge, skill sets and abilities as indicated in the Contractor's Proposal. In addition, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to direct the activities of other Architects, and mentor and coach staff to improve their technical skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with IBM MQ Series.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) Version 2.0.
