Our client, located in Buffalo, NY, is in need of a qualified Systems Administrator to join their team. This is direct hire, with full benefits available upon hire. Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, however, occasional on-call availability is required. This position reports to the Director of IT, and requires excellent communication and organizational skills to support administrative personnel, department supervisors, and staff.DUTIES: * Assists in the planning and implementation of various systems such as desktop PC's, servers, network equipment, and software applications * Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups * Coordinates the distribution of client/server software * Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase * Performs on-site and remote technical support * Maintains good technical documentation * Provides emergency on-call support on a 24-hour basis
Experience: REQUIRES * BS degree in a technological discipline * A minimum of 4 years of systems/network experience * Several years experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server platforms * Strong knowledge of Lotus Notes, with support of Lotus Domino/Exchange Server * Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations, including Cisco routers & switches, Internet firewalls, and wireless technology * Experience managing database systems such as SQL Server * Basic Windows scripting skills * Programming in languages such as .Net, ASP, or RPG is a plus * AS400/OS400 administration is a plus
