BASIC FUNCTION:The Transmission Support Operations area supports the transmission of data between bank customers and/or service providers, using a wide range of transmission products and protocols. This senior analytical position is directly responsible for support of the day-to-day and project activities within the unit. Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for completing new customer set-ups, testing, problem resolution and playing a lead role in championing and implementing new production transmissions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Understanding of data transmission concepts and facilities, including, but not limited to: FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, Connect: Direct, FTM, SFTP, and PGP.Ability to work effectively under pressure and react timely to problem situationsUnderstanding of Data Center Operations fundamentals, including: JCL, scheduling and application processing.Analyzes problems thoroughly, implementing the best possible solution and makes recommendations to implement new and improved proceduresMust be able to direct, mentor and train less experienced resourcesAbility to effectively and independently manage multiple tasks concurrently. Strong verbal and written communication skills.Incumbent must be able to work well independently and be comfortable interfacing with management in a remote locationProven project management experience a plusSelf-motivated individual with a positive attitude, proven track record and a willingness to learnThe incumbent is also responsible for providing level 3 problem resolution support to the Data Center staff, the Network Control Center and Central Operations for existing production transmission failures and provide on call/off hours support.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:BS degree or equivalent with 4-5 years involvement in systems analysis and support or a combination of education and experience.Prior operational experience in a support position and/or in a position requiring a high level of technical customer serviceProven track record dealing with a variety of technologies and customers with the ability to adapt to new situations quicklyAbility to effectively communicate with clients, vendors and internal support organizations and quickly determine, manager, and change prioritiesProven written and verbal communication skills.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Proven experience with Transmission Protocols noted above.Demonstrated project management experienceExposure to the mainframe and distributed environment a plus.
