My client, a software development company specializing in Algorithmic Trade Systems is seeking a QA Engineer. The Candidate will take responsibility for the creation of Automation suite starting with major system flow. The candidate will work closely with Quality Assurance manager on identification of flows and selection of automation tools to accomplish the objectives. In addition you will perform and participate in manual testing cycle for various releases as needed. <br></p>

Responsibilities Include: <br></p>
• Automating major flows of the application. <br></p>
• Testing, analysis, and troubleshooting of high-profile financial applications deployed on Linux and Windows. <br></p>
• Writing, reviewing and implementing test plans and test cases (both manual and automated). <br></p>
• Use of bug tracking systems to communicate software defects to engineering personnel in a clear unambiguous manner. <br></p>
• Performing integration, functional, performance and regression testing. <br></p>
• Assisting Quality Assurance management to implement processes and accomplish Quality Assurance related goals.
Minimum Qualifications <br></p>
• 3 to 5 years of experience in software QA/testing.
<br></p>
• Experience in QA as applied to Java applications, and networking. <br></p>
• Very strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis skills. <br></p>
• Refined proficiency at precise written and verbal communications. <br></p>
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle: Specification/Design/Implementation/Testing/Release.
<br></p>• Experience with and understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL). <br></p>
• Strong experience in UNIX environments (especially Linux). Must be comfortable using standard UNIX utilities to do testing and identify issues. <br></p>
• Familiarity with development tools such as SVN would be a plus. <br></p>
• Strong working knowledge of software build and release management processes such as maintaining QA environment would be a plus.
<br></p>• Self-motivated, dynamic, organized, and responsible, team player <br></p>
• Financial Software Experience (Equities, FIX protocol, OMS, Connectivity) is highly desirable. <br></p>
• Automation of FIX messages is highly desirable. <br></p>
• Some Perl and/or Java programming experience would be a plus. <br></p>
