Data Migration Specialist/SW Engineer in New York, NY

Adecco/Ajilon Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has a 9 month contract opening for a Data Migration Specialist opportunity with a major client located in New York, NY. Knowledge and experience with SQL Stored Procedures, SQL relational databases, ETL toolkits, MS Excel/Access knowledge, VB scripts and XML is key to your success in applying to this position. The company is looking for a Software Engineer to be assigned to work on a large, global data migration project. He/She will work closely with colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia in migrating data with an expected completion date of May 2010.The project will be migrating data from existing Defect Management systems to the new Defect Management system, TeamTrack Defect Management (TDM). Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:1. Create/Update/Maintain SQL Stored Procedures.2. Collaborate with colleagues in US, France and Europe as well as work with project teams to understand their requirements.3. Ensure good planning of the work required.4. Act as the main channel of communication between project teams and central teams in US and Europe.5. Able to make recommendations to project coordinator in designing their project structure and managing project data.6. Prepare and clean data extracted from existing defect management system (DTS)7. Thoroughly understand data mapping for both the existing defect management system (DTS) and new defect management system (TeamTrack).8. Verify all imported data prior and after uploading to TeamTrack.9. Ensure end to end data migration has been successfully implemented. Will be relied on by the rest of the integration team in US and Europe to ensure successful migration. Must be able to own the migration from start to finish for the migrations they are responsible for.10.
