AS/400 Personnel is actively searching for an IT Security Manager on behalf of a client in Buffalo, NY. This role manages the IT Security department and serves as the process owner for all ongoing activities that provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality and integrity of customer, employee, and business information in compliance with organization policies and standards. Under the direction of the Director of IT Security, identifies, reports, and resolves security violations. Researches IT Best Practices and enabling technologies in order to provide an efficient, effective and secure computing environment for the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the daily operations of the IT Security Department.Hire, train and schedule all Security and supervisory personnel.Establish and enforce department policies and procedures as it relates to the IT Security Department.Perform periodic security risk assessments and monitor internal control systems to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained.Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to create information security awareness within the organization.Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.REQUIREMENTS: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent experience and/or demonstrated capacity, is required.Eight years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role in an IT environment is required. OR five years experience providing IT support in a Supervisory or Managerial role is required.Minimum of five years of information security work experience, with a minimum of three years of information security management in an IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment, including experience in information security policy development and implementation. Skill-based security certifications (eg, SANS Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CompTIA Security ).Working knowledge and applied experience in managing to the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 302 and 404 in a multiplatform operating system environment. Experience with Windows network environment including Windows clients and Servers and Cisco Switches is required.Previous experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment is required.Experience with Report Writer software is desired. Salary of $75k-$85k.
