Responsibilities:
Ensure that the Support Desk is covered from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Provide telephone and on-site support to all users in New York and telephone and remote support for Branch offices for all applications.
Manage projects including new application roll outs and training, software upgrades and other analysis.
Become fluent in all Equity and Fixed Income Order Entry, Market Data, Portfolio Analytics, and in-house applications
Play the role of Project manager, and SME for specific applications. Responsible for the tracking of metrics and reporting needs for senior management. Act as liaison between the business and technology units.
Develop ability to diagnose problems over the telephone and solve them remotely, whenever possible.
Become familiar with all support and diagnostic tools.
Prepare documentation (on-line, web based, and hard copy), whenever necessary.
Conduct integration testing for all new applications.
Develop necessary skills so that the training can occur in person or via telephone / web for remote sites.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree required, with experience in securities industry or knowledge of Financial Services Industry.
Understanding of financial concepts, fixed income and equity products, order entry, and the ability to discuss these concepts with the Sales force. Prior experience supporting trading applications (EQ or FID) is a plus.
Candidate must possess extremely strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Must have excellent communication skills * both written and verbal. Ability to interact with a wide audience - Sales Teams, Compliance, Operations, Business Analysts, Production Support, and Development teams.
Experience and knowledge of market data applications is a plus.
Project management experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office and Web based technology.
Some night and weekend hours are required.
Experience: Must have knowledge of/experience with Capital Markets (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives). US Citizen/GC holder. Candidates local to NY/NJ/CT Metro area only.
