Opportunity working for a non-profit organization in NYC. The Technical Project Manager will provide technical expertise for the development and design for client engagement from development phase through implementation of projects. Responsible for the coordination, design, coding, implementation and completion of projects, and other related responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time. Strong attention to detail, creative orientation and latitude is essential for success
Essential Job Functions:
. Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements.
. Oversees testing and develops fixes.
. Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software.
. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
. Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to internal clients
. Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
. Monitors and summarizes progress of project.
. Performs code reviews provides feedback
. Updating senior management with reports on the status of projects
Secondary Job Functions:
. Prepares reports for management regarding status of project.
. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
. Providing technical leadership to technology services and corporate operating units
. Defining project objectives and preparing project plans (this includes helping corporate and business units prepare project plans)
. Assists with the development of strategic technical architecture plans
. Resolving technical and business issues
. Assists in developing technology application standards
Experience: Required skills:
. Strong familiarity with programming languages, such as MS Access (tables, queries, forms and reports design), VBA, SQL and .Net experience required.
. Ability to troubleshoot application issues.
. Strong hands-on programming, user support and training experience in an IT environment.
. Testing and quality assurance experience is a must.
. Minimum of 5 years' experience in business systems development and project management, including process development and execution; coding preferred.
. Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases
. Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal skills are required.
. Ability to communicate technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical clients.
. Ability to communicate across multiple business and departmental lines.
. Demonstrated experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
. Demonstrated success adapting to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
. Basic understanding of accounting principles, along with attention to details and must have advanced level of knowledge of Excel
. Problem-solving, prioritizing, time management, team-building and organizational skills are also essential
Qualifications:
Required:
. Bachelor's Degree in MIS, computer science, information management, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable:
. Project Management Institution (PMI) certification (or its equivalent)
