Sr. Software Support Engineer
Our client, an application service provider (ASP) that deals in interactive marketing solutions, looking to hire a Sr. Technical Support Engineers with a Linux/Unix background and knowledge of HTTP, Perl, HTML, basic system administration, and networking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Work with Developers, DBAs, UNIX System Admins on cross departmental projects.
·
Support end- users with existing applications.
·
Responsible for an assigned sub-system, determining and correcting problems that arise.
·
Develop custom scripts for customers, aimed at streamlining operations,
·
Mentor new team members.
·
Point of escalation for complex technical issues.
·
Off-hour support on a rotational basis
Experience: Requirements
·
Computer Science Bachelors degree or higher
·
Ability to debug code written in a production environment
·
Knowledge of databases including intermediate SQL
·
Experience working with advanced networking and security concepts
·
Exceptional Unix and Perl and shell scripting skills
·
Experience working in a vendor, and with customers.
·
Apply technical analysis of applications to help resolve clients problems.
·
Ability to relate technical information to non-technical staff.
·
Analyze and comprehend users needs.
·
Experience with one or more web programming languages (Perl, PHP, Ruby, Java, etc)
·
Knowledge of Apache, PGP, SSL Certs, DNS
