DURATION: 6-12 MONTHS DESCRIPTION: Our client's current technology platform is fragmented, limited in terms of functionality, limited in terms of integration with lines of business and in many instances based on Excel or Access. A multi-year effort has been launched to define and implement a global target state infrastructure that will address these limitations, thereby providing improved automation and yielding considerable efficiencies across all Finance processes. They seek a developer with extensive experience in the full Cognos 8 suite including the TM1 cube environment to be a part of the development team delivering Reporting & Planning solutions for the Finance community. Role offers an excellent opportunity to participate in a transformational initiative which will have a measurable bottom line impact on the firm. Furthermore, the role will allow the developer to build a detailed understanding of the workings of the Investment Bank's Finance organization, to shape the target state finance business processes and to design a solution which implements them efficiently and reliably. QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent design & development skills - Strong unit testing & code review skills - Strong technical/problem solving skills and detail orientation - Strong influence/teamwork skills - Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously - Knowledge of databases and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes - Minimum 5 years of IT experience - Minimum 3 years experience on the Cognos suite with specific experience developing on the Cognos 8 platform SCOPE: Partner with the internal architecture team to design and deliver reports on the Cognos 8 platform. Develop defined reports and underlying data structures on the Cognos 8 platform Perform unit testing and participate in code reviews with team Collaborate with other developers (potentially onshore and offshore) to establish the technical vision and ensure that the system is built according to the business need. Assist business analysts and users with testing.
