Project Description: Mid Level Database Administrator with minimum 7 years experience in Sybase and Oracle databases.Skills:Experience in Sybase Version 12.x.Experience in Oracle 9i.Experience with installing and configuring Sybase and Oracle databases.Experience with Shell Scripting using Ksh, Csh and Perl. Experience with tuning and troubleshooting production database issues.Experience with optimizing database backup and recovery processes.Experience with perform maintenance, monitoring and tuning of databases.Experience with monitoring production data processes, performance and database capacity issues.Experience using Database Management & Performance Tools such as DBArtisan, and OEM9i.Experience with Oracle Apps a Plus.Experience with SUN Solaris a Plus.Documentation and communication skills are critical success factors.Ability to work well in a team and independently.Ability to take ownership and develop best practices in both maintenance and engineering aspects of server administration. Required Skills: Sybase and Oracle Databases.Rate: $50.00 per hour.Hours: 37.5 per week.This 12+ month position starts ASAP.
