Client has created a Project Management Office with responsibility to approve and support IT project investments and then to control and measure project delivery performance. Client has 500 full time or consulting staff working on over 100 significant projects and a portfolio of several hundred legacy systems. This office has an immediate need for a "Project Management Analyst" to work with the Vice President, PMO to help coordinate and support these client initiatives.The Project Management Analyst role is designed to be part of a career development track that will result in the incumbent migrating to a full-time project management role within the segment.The Project Management Analyst responsibilities include? Track portfolio and individual projects through project and portfolio management processes? Ensure proper tracking of project progress and milestones.? Ensure proper project and portfolio status reporting.? Support communication and transparency across project portfolio and between technology and business teams.? Support business and technology leaders with business case development and collect information about overall portfolio performance.? Develop project and portfolio management systems and processes.? Capture and share best practices before, during and after project execution.Job Dimensions:? Frequent interactions with technology vice presidents, project managers and project team members? Routine formal and informal interactions with corporation IT executives? Prepare written communication for client business executives and corporate technology executives? Support for projects with budgets totaling over $100 millionPreferred Qualifications? Bachelor's degree in business, education, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience required; advanced training in project management (including RUP and Agile development methodologies)? An MBA or experience with a top-tier consulting firm is a strong preference? Experience working in a program management environment with demonstrated success developing schedules for complex programs.? Experience creating and maintaining schedules for multi-million dollar programs, and with supporting fixed-price programs. ? Hands-on program management software experience.? Experience working with executives, senior management and program team members, experience working in matrix organization, and experience training/explaining project management techniques and processes.

Requirements:

Knowledge of the fundamentals of project and program management planning, including deliverables identification and project planning.? 4-6 years of experience? PMP Certification is preferred. If incumbent does not have PMP certification, the incumbent must agree to pursue PMP certification.? Must be highly organized and self-directed.? Must have ability to work with diverse groups of people in challenging and complex endeavors, as demonstrated by successful team experience.? Must be able to travel occasionally and for up to several days at a time. Occasional extended travel for several weeks is possible (overall travel could be 25-40%).
