Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer in New York, NY

Pierce has an immediate opening with a large corporation in New York City. Job Description: Candidate will be responsible for the architecture and engineering of Windows server solutions for the global enterprise. Responsibilities include engineering solutions for Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS and DFS configuration and Server Hardware/ OS. It is vital that the candidate has the ability to formulate, document and handoff operations/site support processes and procedures. Additionally, the candidate must have an enterprise view and develop the strategic roadmap of back office products. The candidate must act as role model, an agent of change and mentor to others both within and outside the team. Qualifications: Responsibility for Architecture, Design and implementation of Server Infrastructure technology: Windows 2000/2003 Server. Active Directory & Directory Services (Multi-Forest / Multi- Domain environments). Group Policy and Scripting Technologies. OS build and troubleshooting. Server Hardware expertise (Dell & HP). Microsoft Operations Manager and Microsoft Back Office server products (SMS & SQL). Solid understanding of EMC SAN / NAS technologies. Microsoft Clustering. Microsoft Share Point Services / other collaboration tools/technologies. Related Project Engineering and Delivery. Experience at performing technical writing and related editing functions to prepare architectural documentation, briefings and presentations. Participate and drive technology products in the respective areas. Define and create repeatable processes, improve process maturity rating, drive for consistency and best practices. Tier 3/ Operational troubleshooting responsibility. Ability to develop and maintain Product Life Cycle plans for HW and SW products. Ability to assist/support lower level engineers with design and implementation activities. Ability to lead a cross sectional team of engineers on complex Infrastructure Design and Implementation projects. SME level achievement within at least one core competency area. Required Skills: 8+ years engineering and support experience within a Windows Server infrastructure environment and providing server solutions to clients. 4+ years experience with HP & DELL Hardware. 3+ years experience with EMC or other SAN / NAS / Archiving technologies. 3+ years project management experience. Education: Bachelors Degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience.
