Our Client is responsible for providing the highest quality, most reliable and cost-effective systems to support the current and future business needs of Stock Exchanges. There work spans all aspects of technology - from research, development, to software development, programming, communications, operations and facilities management.


The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible to the Quality Assurance Managing Director for the functional, system, integration and regression testing of the trading system software in an Exchange environment. This position will ensure the quality and integrity of the trading system software and monitor the processes and procedures under the guidance of the department manager. The candidate must communicate with Operations, Development, and QA staff members.


We're looking for candidates with 3-5 solid years of experience in an equity trading environment with strong QA experience. Candidate should have a good understanding of financial applications and have the ability to train more junior level QA Analysts.

Job Requirements:

- Solid 3-5 years of experience and understanding in an equity trading environment
- We're looking for Strong financial industry experience; specifically testing the following:
* Applications (trade/quotes/orders)
* UNIX experience
* QA automation
- The candidates should have solid experience in online system testing in UNIX environments.
- Execute tests and document testing requirements and processes for all applications to ensure QA policies and standards are met. They must be able to write clear, concise defect tickets to facilitate the testing life cycle.
- Must be familiar with functional testing, system testing, regression testing (automation) and integration testing.
- Hands on experience developing automated testing scripts utilizing popular third party tools.
- Person should have understanding of configuration files and how they relate to applications.
- Identify discrepancies, report defects utilizing the internal tracking application, communicate with the development team via established process, and track them to resolution.
- Participate in test strategy meetings. Work independently on projects assigned. Interact within a team structure and often on ad hoc basis and multiple activities. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
- They should have excellent verbal and written skills.
- PC Operating Systems: Comfortable working with IE, Netscape and familiarity with Linux & Unix.

Plus Skills:

- Experience with electronic trading systems is a plus.
- Knowledge/understanding of shell command language and knowledge and experience with writing shell scripts is a plus.

Duration: 9 months + (right candidates have good chances of extension)
Location: Downtown Manhattan, NYC / Metrotech Center, Brooklyn (two subway stops from Wall Street), NY
