Programmer Analyst in New York, NY

Business Intelligence - Programmer Analyst - College degree in Computer Science or related field. - Excellent communication skills - oral and written. Experience with writing technical documentation (requirements definition, test cases and plans, system interface documentation, etc.) is required. - Strong analytical skills and an ability to provide creative solutions to problems. - 3 years of application programming experience. - Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages. - Development experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools, Microstrategy preferred. - Extensive experience with relational databases and SQL is a must, Oracle preferred. - Understanding of general data warehouse concepts and dimensional data models - Experience with OLAP and multidimensional databases is a plus. - Experience with ETL tools, Ascential preferred. - Experience writing UNIX scripts is a plus. - Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Project, Outlook and Excel. - Retail experience and general knowledge of retail business practices preferred. - Ability to work well in a team setting. - Ability to effectively switch gears as the business requirements dictate. - Willing to be on call after business hours.
