I. Position Summary: The Program Manager is responsible for planning and executing major projects that address JetBlue's business needs. The Program Manager refines and utilizes the Project Management process to initiate, plan, execute, and complete assigned projects in harmony with department-wide processes. In addition, the individual manages the steering committee relationship per the assigned major project. II. Essential Functions: Program Manager - Specific Functions ? Manages major, cross-disciplinary/departmental projects ? From the Project Management Office (PMO) level, manages major project budgets, risk, scope, change management, enterprise project plan, steering committee status reports, issues, resource management, communication planning, etc. ? Regularly meets and presents project data with executive steering committee groups ? Helps to refine and implement appropriate Program Management processes and tools to support them ? Involvement with consulting business vendor selection relating to new, major projects ? Works with the business to strategically plan high-priority cross-departmental projects which support JetBlue's business objectives and which leverage the technologies and systems composing Information Technology's (IT) technology vision ? Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change Manager Level - Core Functions ? Assists Crewmembers in prioritizing project activities ? Interfaces with IT leadership to ensure appropriate support of IT projects ? Works closely with project teams, vendors and other groups to coordinate plans and activities ? Provides guidance and assesses requirements for additional services and promotes use of IT services, where appropriate ? Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline, or budget changes/improvements ? Enables project members to excel by working with them and with IT Managers directly to contribute to individual Crewmember personal and career development ? Provides administrative oversight, controls, and supports the IT Program Management body ? Provides input into the planning and management of the IT Program Management budget ? Provides oversight and management of assigned major projects ? Sets strategies and objectives for the IT Program Management discipline ? Supports IT Business Solution Delivery (BSD) team with the recommendation of contracts and pricing with business partners ? Manages, facilitates, and supports the work of others ? Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline, or budget changes/improvements ? Ensures continued accountability for major projects within and across JetBlue departments III. Interactions: Supervision Received: ? Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents Supervisory Duties: ? Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of two (2) or more Crewmembers; participates in the decision to hire, fire, and promote Crewmembers; does not conduct the same work as Crewmembers on a regular basis Crewleader Responsibility: ? Project Manager ? Project Lead IV. Minimum Qualifications: ? Bachelor's Degree in related discipline ? Specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through five (5) to ten (10) years of previous experience and education ? Five (5) to ten (10) years experience in managing IT project portfolios (external) ? Two (2) to five (5) years experience in managing IT project portfolios (internal) ? Experience with industry standards in project management and development methodologies (PMBOK, MSF, SEI, Agile Methods, RUP, etc.) ? Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required ? Regular attendance and punctuality ? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion ? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance ? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test ? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located ? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft V.
