Position Overview: Plan, design, implement, tune and analyze business-oriented technical solutions Databases and Oracle applications, forms, and reports in any platform. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Installing and upgrading the ORACLE Server, Application, Forms, and Reports servers. 2. Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database. 3. Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) once developers have designed an application. 4. Creating primary database objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application. 5. Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. 6. Enrolling users and maintaining system security. 7. Prepare documentation to support operation and company standards. 8. Controlling and monitoring user access to the database. 9. Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database. 10. Planning for backup and recovery of database information. 11. Maintaining archived data on appropriate storage devices. 12. Backing and restoring production databases 13. 24x7 production support is required 14. Contacting Oracle Corporation for technical support. 15. Assist application teams in meeting their database needs and maintaining company standards. Position Qualifications / Requirements: -The preferred candidate should have at least four years of increasing Oracle Database responsibilities in any platform (Unix , NT, Win2000, etc.. ) -At least a bachelor's degree in (BA/BS) preferably in Computer Science or related fields is essential with an advanced degree highly desirable. -Strong experience in several of the following technical areas would be expected: * Oracle Database 8i, 9i, 10g * Datawarehousing experience * Database backup and recovery * Database performance and tuning * Database capacity and planning * IT Operations * Process design skills To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
