The candidate would be responsible for engineering distributed storage solutions and standards for client. The candidate will work in a team environment, and be required to evaluate new products, track product roadmaps, provide best practices, and third level support. The successful candidate should have 5+ years of experience in storage management and a successful track record for implementation of SAN and other various storage devices. The candidate should have familiarity with Windows Clustering and SQL clustered environments. In addition to possessing excellent technical skills, candidates should have solid project management skills, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should be highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment, and be able to adapt to changing business priorities. Job Responsibilities · Architect distributed storage solutions, which included SAN, NAS, DAS, De-duplication and other technologies and tools available · Architect and implement ILM (Information Life-cycle Management) strategy · Plan and implement storage solution for disaster recovery · Familiar with Blade server technologies and VMWare on SAN · Knowledge of SAN host connectivity in Windows and VMWare environments · Participate in design architecture of Server Virtualization Solution, which utilizes VMWare and other virtualization technologies & tools available · Create detailed design architecture , implementation and administration documents for areas of responsibility · Responsible for administrating storage and server virtualization solutions within the client's Global Data Centers · Shares responsibilities within Global Data Center team in day-to-day operations of client's New York Data Centers. This includes but not limited to: · Data Center support functions like environmental and infrastructure support · Server rack & build, cable management, break-fix, preventive maintenance etc. · Off-hour and weekend support as required · Manages various projects within Data Center Design & Architecture area · All other tasks as assigned by Global Data Center Director · Occasional travel may be required Job / Educational Requirements Candidate must have: · Design and architecture experience with various storage solutions · Experience with core SAN administration and operations including: SAN switches, SAN controllers, Disk arrays (3 - 5 years) · VMWare experience including VMs, Virtual Center, VMotion, P2V and other VMWare tools (2+ years) · Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology and trends in Storage and VMWare area · Solid understanding of Data Information Life-Cycle Management · Working in a data center environment · Various server hardware technologies - IBM, HP etc. · OS technology - MS Windows and Linux In addition, candidate must possess the following Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Visio Solid project management skills Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical ability Documentation skills required Excellent customer communication skills Flexible schedule to accommodate for travel to other locations for IT staff meetings, training and/or assist with client's projects Ability to test and introduce new utilities to help the environment · Ability to multi-task and prioritize work for self and/or small team independently · Ability to resolve complex problems seeking guidance when necessary · Be able to travel internationally and hold a valid passport To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
