Position Description:
The position is for a hands-on application developer for the structured credit technology team within Fixed Income IT and she/he will be responsible for development of new functionalities, enhancements and maintenance of applications.
Requirements/Technical Skills:
Good understanding of design and development using the or C# programming language and familiarity with RDBMS like Oracle platforms;
Ability to go thru the full life-cycle of requirements to released software and subsequent iterative evolution is a must.
Successful applicant will be keen to learn about the structured credit trading business.
A measure of their success will be how rapidly they learn about the client's structured credit business and develop system for them.
An ability to execute project on a strict time line is critical.
The candidate must be a highly effective development leader.
When appropriate, the candidate will need to demonstrate great drive and commitment to meet their objectives. The candidate will have to take client pressure in their stride, showing appropriate levels of urgency, while remaining productive, professional and controlled.
Experience Required:
At least 6-8 years experience in working with: .NET Framework (specifically C# required) - Remoting- Refection- Various Desing patterns- Web Service Development.- Windows Service Development.- Desktop Application Development- SQL/PLSQL- Oracle- Excel/VB- Object-Oriented analysis/design/programming
Work Location: NYC, Midtown
Rate: $600 - $800/day
Regular Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM

2) MS SQL Server DBA
Position Description:
DBA with a minimum 7+ years experienceIn-depth knowledge of MSSQL Server 2000, 2005, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Business Intelligence, Integration Services, log shipping and replication;
Work independently in a diverse production and development environment;
Work on Windows platform with 32 bit, 64 bit clustered and standalone serversBuild MSSQL Server 2000 and 2005 servers, backup / restore databases, monitor alerts, follow change management processes, performance tuning and trouble-shooting, setup/modify log shipping and replicationWork with log-shipped and replicated databases;
Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery and automated alerts;
Follow change management and compliancy proceduresMust be willing to work during weekends and holidays;
Experience in task automationTeam player with Good communication and written skills.
This is a contract to hire role with potential to convert after 6 months. Some travel to Stamford, CT, and Jersey City, NJ, required.
