OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT:

Function as technical expert and project manager on video conferencing, video networking, and video communication and collaboration projects for Infrastructure Development.

Function as technical expert and project manager on video communications projects for Infrastructure Development.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

In this position you will handle video related planning and be called upon to participate in various technological design teams and workshops, including defining a video technology product roadmap, identifying options to accelerate delivery of next generation products, creating efficiencies in existing technology segments, and building detailed streamlined operating models aligned with the global and local support organizations.

Serve as lead engineer on study teams for global technical and product standards and interact with colleagues and business partners to facilitate requirements gathering, project reviews and approvals, user acceptance testing and communication strategies development


Primary Responsibilities:

Video Communications expert within the Firm

Project manage videoconference projects for new products, upgrades and services integration

Responsible for design, development, implementation and vendor management

Lead tactical and significant portion of strategic direction for the video environments

Solves issues across products, vendors, and connection mediums

Project horizons Typically between 3-18 months

Lead development and implementation efforts for video conference services

Participate in cross team efforts to ensure functionality within video environment, including O&S, GHD, SSO and development teams, but also lead teams resolving issues related to knowledge expertise

Strong collaboration and proactive communications with clients and other development teams during project work to include strong verbal and written formats

BACKGROUND AND TRAINING:

Bachelors degree or higher in computer science or electrical engineering; or Bachelors degree in other discipline and significant relevant experience

5+ years of industry experience

3-5 years of networking experience in a WAN and LAN environment

General understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as general switching concepts.

Strong understanding and experience with Polycom video products and industry standard video network design including H.323, QoS, scalability and redundancy planning, call flows and topology, least cost routing, dial-plans, as well as various network monitoring thresholds

Strong hands on implementation experience, implementation planning and process management.

Strong hands on experience with Polycom MCU, Gatekeeper, Gateway, scheduling and reporting systems, HDX and RPX room based systems, and tabletop/laptop based video solutions.

Experience with managed service provider integration and vendor management required.Want to learn more about us?
