The candidate will play an integral role in the Security Product Team¡¦s goal of developing a software system used by both the company and its clients to secure access for the many applications the company develops. The Security system offers a security layer which sits on top of 100+ different applications, all with different security needs, and developed on a variety of different platforms (e.g., mainframe, pc, web, and client-server). The ideal candidate will have the ability to master and write internal materials about the complex and multi-layered aspects of the system, and also be able to translate this information into easy-to-use external materials.

Product Responsibilities
Candidate will be involved in all aspects of the product development cycle, with an emphasis on documenting and managing any information generated during this process. Responsibilities include:
„X Learning the intricacies of the Security system and how clients use it
„X Participation in design meetings, and documenting requirements and design specifications
„X Help team develop UI designs and perform UCD testing
„X Develop and maintain documentation as needed (e.g., internal technical materials, installation/training materials, and user materials)
„X Become a technical expert on all aspects of the Security system and assist in software testing and product support
Experience: Wide-ranging technical background, experience documenting databases, mainframe, coding languages, etc. a plus
Experience creating documentation for large-scale, enterprise-level software
Mainframe, advertising or security/SOX experience a plus. MIS/Computer Science background also a plus
Knowledge of technical writing principles, practices and tools. Has produced documentation in FrameMaker; and created diagrams in Visio.
Experience writing software manuals, including User Guides, Installation Guides, Release Notes, and online help. Able to provide multiple samples.
Able to write to varied audiences, tailoring style to accommodate both technical users (e.g., programmers and administrators), as well as non-technical users.
Can compose original text based on using and understanding a software application or system; can also edit, improve, and integrate text provided by other team members.
Can explain complex concepts in clear, simple, and economical prose.
Impeccable grammar, usage, and style. Able to follow corporate style guidelines, while still exercising independent editorial judgment.
Strong project management skills, with ability to meet deadlines and adjust to change in work assignments
Proven ability to work independently, as well as with other team members.
Must be a quick learner, self-starter, and resourceful, with strong organizational and time-management skills
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment
Minimum 3-5 years experience in technical communication/information design. UI design experience a plus.
